Routing Cables (for vehicle installations)
If your vehicle is equipped with wiring troughs in the doorsills,
use them to simplify cable installation and to provide maximum
protection for the cables.
If wiring troughs are not available, route cables according to
these guidelines:
◊ Route cables so they are protected from pinching, sharp
edges, and crushing
Where possible, avoid routing cables above the catalytic
converter
Use grommets wherever a cable must pass through a
hole in a metal panel
WARNING:
Air bags inate with great force. DO NOT place objects,
including communication equipment, in the area over
the air bag or in the air bag deployment area. If the
communication equipment is improperly installed and
the air bag inates, serious injury could result.
